Women and Cardiovascular Disease

Do you know that heart disease is the number one killer for women? Also, women are more likely to have heart attack symptoms unrelated to chest pain. Here are a few to look out for and discuss with your doctor :

1) Neck, jaw and upper back and abdomen discomfort;

2) Shortness of breath;

3) Pain in one or both arms;

4) Heartburn; and

5) Emotional stress

While we may not experience crushing hard chest pain often associated with heart attacks, it is the blockages in smaller arteries that we need to pay attention to.
