Let’s Understand Your Menstrual Cycle

When women come and see me, I always want to understand their menstrual health and cycle. More so if they are coming in for fertility consult.

Their cycles or lack thereof, number of flow days, heavy or scanty menses, cramps, clots all play a part in their treatment plans and strategies.

Amenorrhea - no period past age 15

Oligomenorrhea - in frequent periods. 5 to 8 periods per year

Polymenorrhea - many periods with 1 menstrual cycle or bleeding every 10 to 15 days
