Ida Mat Aris L.Ac. is a licensed acupuncturist, applied clinical nutritionist, educator, and advocate for whole-body wellness through alternative care options. Ida is passionate about creating a nourishing space where her patients can benefit from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

From a young age, Ida was immersed in the world of traditional healing. Among her earliest memories are drying herbs, making ointments, and carrying her grandmother’s medicine bag. She witnessed her grandmother–who was a midwife and healer in her native Singapore – guide patients to emotional and physical health by listening to their needs and helping them actively engage in their own health. Ida experienced the transformative power of acupuncture for pain relief as a teenager seeking treatment for sports injuries and menstrual cramps. She always knew she wanted to help others. In 2002, Ida enrolled in Acupuncture school. She took her grandmother’s legacy and committed herself to providing an ethical and alternative health option, to those who needed or desired more choices. She trained for countless hours in acupuncture clinics, witnessing patients as they received the gift of relief from pain–both physical and emotional. Four years later, she graduated summa cum laude and earned her Master’s degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine.

Since then, Ida has treated hundreds of patients, guiding them through pain management, pre and post-natal care, fertility challenges, emotional strife, and more. She continues to evolve and keep pace with Western medicine so she can provide complementary care. Ida is also an active member of Acupuncturists Without Borders (AWB), with whom she has traveled to Greece and Mexico to provide treatments to refugees, asylum seekers, and indigenous communities in need.
