What is Infertility?

It is defined as the inability to get pregnant after 12 months of unprotected sex. Both men and women have equal chances of being infertile.

• The fertilized egg must travel through the fallopian tube towards the uterus

• Pregnancy begins when the fertilized egg implants in the womb

In evaluating your fertility, these are some of the questions that will be asked during your intake

Females : 

  1. What is your timeframe of trying to conceive?

  2. What is your menstrual cycle like?

  3. Do you have any history of miscarriages?

  4. Do you struggle with menstrual cramps or abdominal pains?

  5. Do you have abnormal vaginal discharge?

  6. Do you have any other medical conditions e.g. thyroid, diabetes, weight gain, cancer etc?

Males:

  1. What is your timeframe of trying to conceive?

  2. Do you have any injuries to your genitalia?

  3. Any medical conditions or past surgery?

  4. Do you have any reports from your Urologist?

  5. When was your last semen analysis?
